Lux Beata, the blessed light, that which illuminates with music the darkness and gloom of our daily toils.

With a shared focus on ancient music, from the 15th to the 18th centuries, as well as modern compositions and traditional music, we strive to create experiences that transcend and open new worlds and sounds to our listeners.

Based in Brussels, Belgium, the group and our performances center around the viola da gamba in its different sizes and combinations, from solo music, to the pure viol consort, to instrumental ensembles combining it with violins, wind instruments, keyboards, lutes, harps, voices and world instruments.

The combination of ancient, traditional and contemporary music is of great importance to us. It opens up new possibilities in emotions and expressions during a program, and creates new shades, colors and dynamics for the audience to be pulled into.
